Building Pathways is a non-profit organization based in Boston. Founded by the Greater Boston Building Trades Unions, we are dedicated to the recruitment, retention and advancement of under-represented groups in the union building trades, including women, people of color, and other under-served communities. To learn more, explore our programs below.
Learn about a career in the trades with 200+ hours of hands-on and classroom training. Building Pathways will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to enter and succeed in a registered union apprenticeship program.
Our “Build a Life” program is dedicated to educating women about careers in the skilled construction trades. Tradeswomen Tuesday happens at 5pm on the first Tuesday of each month.
A Respectful Workplace Program providing tools and support to create and maintain safe, inclusive and productive work sites for everyone.

We were proud to support last month’s exciting Girls in Trades Career Fair, which brought together hundreds of girls from high schools across the Commonwealth to explore careers in the skilled trades.
Building Pathways declares and affirms to fight to ensure and to uphold that Black Lives Matter. We decry the institutional systems of racism and oppression that contributed to the murder of George Floyd and of countless other innocent black people
